Merimbula Jazz Festival
The Merimbula Jazz Festival has been held every June long weekend since 1981 involving approximately 150 bands, 700 musicians playing all styles of jazz from trad, ragtime, big bands, swing, mainstream, modern and funk.
The Festival events are conducted in seven venues-- within one modern hotel and three modern clubs . Venues include the Lakeview Hotel, Merimbula RSL Club , Pambula- Merimbula Golf Club and Club Sapphire ( Merimbula Imlay Bowling Club ). All venues are wheel chair accessible and provide food and drinks within the dining rooms or small snacks also available.
Enjoy a long weekend of jazz music, dancing, good company, a street parade and great restaurants all conducted at sunny Merimbula located on the Far South Sapphire Coast of New South Wales—six hours drive south of Sydney and seven hours north of Melbourne. Enjoy the Experience.
Shoalhaven Regional Food and Wine Show
The Shoalhaven Regional Food and Wine Show is a two day extravaganza of the best gourmet food (from olives, salsas, cakes and cheeses), regional produce (from quail, mushrooms and oysters), award winning wines and beer (enjoy by the glass or take home a bottle) and delicious food from local restaurants including Indian, Seafood, Italian, gourmet pies and sausage rolls, savoury and sweet pastries plus more.
Celebrity chef from Channel 7's Better Homes and Gardens "Fast" Ed Halmagyi will be conducting live cooking demonstrations at 10am, 12pm and 2pm both days of the show. Visitors can meet Ed and have a cook book signed.
Live music and entertainment will be running all weekend as well as major prize giveaways including barbecues, weekend getaways, coffee equipment plus much more.
This is an indoor, fully air-conditioned, undercover event and will be held rain, hail or shine. Free parking available for all visitors.
South Coast Maritime and History Expo
The South Coast Maritime and History Expo is a two day exhibition at the Ulladulla Civic Centre. There will be displays and workshops on: Aboriginal culture and families, ship building and shipwrecks of the Ulladulla coastline, museum displays, heritage tourism, natural and maritime heritage, model ship building, historic photos, family history and much more.
Displays and speakers include: South Coast Aboriginal culture and art; shipbuilding and shipwrecks to 1900s Ulladulla; heritage tourism and coastal natural heritage; historic photo display of the region; heritage consultant and historian: Cathy Dunn; early colonial and pioneer records New South Wales; shipwreck relics of South Coast waters; Shauna Hicks History Enterprises; family and local history resources; history of Ulladulla fishing industry; Milton Ulladulla Historical Society; heritage resources and show bags; model ship building; Milton 150th anniversary display.
